Onigiri run you around $4-7, but it is a decent amount of food and they really loaded up on the Ikura for my Oyako onigiri! I would definitely come back to try more onigiri as both of the ones I ordered tasted pretty good. The curry udon was just ok in my opinion ”

“ This place filled up quickly after opening so would recommend stopping by early to put your name down. There's a park nearby and some shops so few ways to kill time. We each got different variations of the chasuke, all amazing. The entire time we were eating we kept saying "mmmm" and "so good". The two onigiris were good, but the chasuke was definitely the star of the show. The tables were small though and it felt a little precarious with all the items on the table. The prices were fair, about $20 and we were extending full after. Servers were nice and we briefly met the owner who was also friendly! Highly recommend stopping by if you get a chance! ”

“ A hidden gem in Sesttle for sure! Onibaba feels like a hole-in-the-wall, as there is no sign outside. Service was so quick when we came around 12pm. Even if you need to wait, I would say it's worth it. This place is known for their delicious onigiri and ochazuke. Japanese friends recommended this to my friends and it truly blew us out of the water. Ochazuke is similar to a soup based dish. In my millennial brother's words, "this was super bussin' bussin'." Pros: delicious, filling on a cold day, friendliest staff, affordable for the portion Cons: longer waits during peak hours ”

“ Managed to get in here without a wait on a monday night! There aren't many home style japanese restaurants in seattle that serve things like ochazuke and onigiri. The mentaiko onigiri was delicious and packed with flavour. They also nailed the onigiri rice. The pork bowl was also super flavourful. I thought the curry udon was interesting since japanese curry is usually on the sweet end but this one had a spicy kick to it. They also had a few interesting japanese beers like a sakura mochi stout! ”

“ Small Japanese spot tucked into a quiet corner of the International District. They serve onigiri (rice balls), ochazuke (rice with tea), donburi (rice bowls) with various types of meat/seafood/veggies, and other side dishes. They also have a selection of teas, Japanese beer & liquor and sake. They don't take reservations and it's a small restaurant with limited seating so you will probably have to wait a bit if you come at peak hours. They have a covered area outside where you can stand and wait if it's raining. Inside it is a bit cramped but after you're seated it wasn't an issue. My favorite onigiris were the unagi and the mentaiko. The unagi was super tasty. My friend also tried the salmon and ikura onigiri and enjoyed it. I also really liked the kaarage salad which came with 4 huge pieces of lightly fried chicken. It was crispy and flavorful, and the salad was also well dressed. ”

“ I've been wanting to try this restaurant ever since it opened. They specialize in onigiri with many different fillings. The restaurant name is comprised of Japanese words oni (demon) and baba (hag). The logo is a cute demon, holding an onigiri in her hands. The restaurant is quite small with only a few tables. There's no way to make reservations. But if you're interested in takeout, it's easy to order to go and even easier to order onigiri as they have a few displayed in a clear case on the counter. Though the menu is small and focused on several categories of food, the creativity of flavors and combinations knocks it out of the park. My favorite dish was the Mentaiko Special Onigiri, which is spicy cod roe with cheese and ao-nori. It was delicious with the cheese and roe complementing each other. I would say to eat it right away as it tastes best warm/hot because when it cooled, it wasn't as flavorful and everything had hardened. My friends and I also tried a few other dishes. The most disappointing dish was the Ingen Gomaae (green beans mixed with sesame paste). We thought this was going to be a hot dish, but the beans were cold and crunchy, which did not appeal to us. The regular udon wasn't mind-blowing, but I did enjoy that it came in the normal size, Su Udon, and had the option of a smaller size, Mini Su Udon. Onibaba is located in Japan Town in the C-ID, so street parking can be difficult to find. Depending on the day, there can also be a wait due to the small space and limited seating. ”

“ This is a hidden gem in Japantown. We almost walked past it as it doesn't have any clear signage in front of the shop. Once inside, the interiors are well decorated and cozy. My friend and I were seated immediately, but they likely have a wait on busier days as the restaurant is quite small. We tried some of their cocktail drinks and they were really good. We ordered the octopus ochazuke, burdock salad, karaage, and eel bowl. Everything came out pretty fast and it was really flavorful. I definitely have to come back to try their signature onigiri and curry dishes. ”

“ This restaurant is very easy to miss because of its unassuming entrance and unmarked exterior, we walked past it a couple times before realizing the door was to the small restaurant. They don't take reservations so when we came around 4:30pm, we still had to wait about 20 minutes and the waitlist got longer quick. They have a pretty decent but simple menu, so we ordered a few items to share. The salmon ochazuke was a little bland but they give you a lot of salmon and Ikura. Oppositely, the pork belly rice bowl was a little too salty. Our favorite dishes were the mentaiko onigiri, spam and egg musubi, and the best thing we got was the matcha lemonade! They also do togo, so I'd probably consider doing that next time. I'd recommend if you're in the area, it's convenient for pre or post game dining but be warned that it could be a long wait. ”

“ Get here early; the place is small with few tables that give you little personal space, and wait times can get awfully long. But everything else from the fast and quick service to the food was just superb as hell! Even on a weeknight like on a Thursday when I went, I still had to put my name on a waitlist. My friend and I got the mentaiko special nigiri, curry udon, tori karaage and oyako ochazuke. The mentaiko special had cod roe, cheese and nori on it, and was a great way to start off the meal with it being both spicy and cheesy/savory all at once! I heard this place was well-known for their nigiri, so I was pretty impressed. The curry udon was heavy BUT had soooo mich flavor in it that just having it by itself woild have been very satisfying, it's more creamy if anything. The tori karaage was hot, fresh and worthy of getting a second order. My favorite though was definitely the oyako ochazuke; the broth mixed in well with the salmon and salmon roe and I wish I jad more of the broth to begin with. Here, pirces are kinda up there but I think the food quality more than made up for that. ”
